So are there any other Moms out there that are so tired of the candy constantly being given to your children?? Every holiday (and there are alot of holidays) seem to be surrounded by giving children sugary treats. I am constantly talking to my Mother-n-law about at least give them fruit snacks instead of candy bars. I think that I have finally won her over with that since it still looks like a candy treat. Here are some fun ideas that can be given for Valentines Day instead of chocolates and bunch of other sugary foods.
This photo is from a shop on Etsy called Toys of the Past. She has the cutest Vintage toys Ever. Your kids will love getting these toys. Her shop can be found at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/toysofthepast
I have think this shop has the cutest crocheted frogs, bugs etc. I love Made by Clifford items (soft spot for frogs myself). This shop can be found at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/madebyclifford
This awesome item is from a great shop called Charmeleon Gift Supply on Etsy. She loves to upcycle items into things that kids will adore like magnets, keychains and buttons. She can be found at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/CharmeleonGiftSupply
These are from my shop and look like candy but are really Recycled Crayons. They are so fun to color with. They can be found at my Etsy store: http://www.etsy.com/people/ourchildrensearth
You can also place them into a recycled valentines heart just like candy (if you are still liking the candy theme):
Look how cute these heart bookmarks are. You can give a child a fun book and a bookmark for it….awesome! You can find her shop at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ReadWithMe
Look how cute this little blankie is for our younger children. This was made by a fun shop called Slug Bug No Hit Back. They can be found on Etsy at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SlugBugNoHitBacks
Mommy and Me Boutique is one of my favorite places to get hair accessories. She makes high quality items and even teens like these. She can be found at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MommyandMeBoutique8
And last but not least, these valentines puzzles would be so cute to give to kids. It would allow you some special time to sit and talk while you put it together. This comes from the great store of Treasure 2 Remember and can be found at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Treasure2Remember
I hope that this helps you to find some great items for your special Valentines this year. Now I better run so I can go find some great deals on candy bars for my kids….ha ha ha!
